AEW signs ZTE in Slough

AEW has secured Chinese multinational telecommunications company ZTE as the latest tenant at Bath Road Central business park in Slough, where it will base its new UK headquarters.

ZTE has agreed to a new 10-year lease on 9,851 sq ft of space on the second floor of 252 Bath Road Central, joining Telefonica O2, Fiat, Black & Decker and Furniture Village. AEW quoted a rent of £33.50/sq ft on the building.

Since acquiring the 972,300 sq ft business park in January 2016, AEW has rebranded the asset and added amenities such as food markets, a summer fete, boot camp training and a range of retail services.

Charlie Royle, director, AEW said: “ZTE’s decision to choose Bath Road Central as the location for its new UK headquarter office is reflective of the quality of the business community in Slough and the access it provides to central London and the UK regions, as well as international destinations through Heathrow. Bath Road Central is at the heart of a catchment area that provides access to a highly skilled workforce and, subsequently, it is home to the highest concentration of headquartered offices outside of central London.”
