Company Switches HQ to Kings Hill, Kent

Mezzanine International, a leading UK supplier of specialised steel structures, is switching its headquarters toKings Hill, near Maidstone. The move will see the firm moving to a 4,397 sq ft suite as it takes advantage of the business park’s connectivity links to expand its footprint.

The company, which designs, manufactures and installs mezzanine floors, is relocating locally and has taken space in 11 Tower View, a multi-let office building adjacent to the shops, restaurants and pub in Liberty Square. Hanover Green is joint letting agent.

Scott Chambers of Mezzanine International, said that the move would see Mezzanine reducing its costs as it takes advantage of the park’s comprehensive IT provisions – something he believes will translate into new benefits for customers.

“The full fibre optics broadband, dual back up on servers, full wifi and multi-system live screens in our open plan office will make ours the most up to date, cutting edge office in our market sector,” he said. “We have a lot of overseas clients and we will now be able to communicate with them directly wherever they are in the world. This will cut the cost of project management and design contracts, reduce the need for air travel and give clients immediate access to our design team.

“We strongly believe that communication is key to any successful relationship and our move to Kings Hill will provide our clients full access to us and vice versa. We also plan to expand and have built in 50% additional capacity into our office space so our new surroundings will grow with us.”

Twenty two staff will be moving to Kings Hill and the company plans to increase its workforce within the next 18 months.

For more than 20 years Mezzanine International has been providing expert advice and installing mezzanine floors in warehouses, distribution centres, manufacturing plants, airports, retail and commercial units where clients are seeking to maximise their space. One recent contract saw the firm create a two-level mezzanine to replicate the fuselage of the world’s largest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380, which was used for Air France crew training at Charles de Gaulle Airport.

Andrew Blevins, managing director of Kings Hill developer Liberty Property Trust UK, said that Liberty’s buying power for utilities and other services enables tenants to benefit from competitive occupational costs.

“We also offer a ‘shopping list’ of facilities management services from which tenants can tailor a package to suit their specific needs,” he said. “We are delighted Mezzanine International is moving to Kings Hill and look forward to the company being part of our community.”

Kings Hill is set in 800 acres near the county town of Maidstone and is just two miles from junction 4 of the M20. It was a former airfield and is now home to around 7,700 residents and more than 200 businesses employing some 5,000 people.

There are also schools and a village centre with shops including Waitrose; Costa Coffee; Domino’s and restaurants, as well as a surgery, dry cleaners, shoe repairers, pharmacy and opticians.
