Old Gramophone factory acquired by Resolution for £18 million

An old gramophone factory in Notting Hill, west London, which was once at the forefront of reggae music in Britain, has been bought by Resolution Property for £18m.

Resolution has acquired The Old Gramophone Works at 326 Kensal Road for a 100,000 sq ft mixed-use hub.

The 0.6-acre canal-side site, formerly home to reggae label Trojan Records, comprises 60,000 sq ft across four buildings, with occupiers including fashion accessory designer Lulu Guinness, and cutting-edge production company Popkorn Television.

Resolution is working up plans to develop and enhance the site to create a hub for creative, media and digital businesses and independent retailers, as well as upper floor loft-style flats. The acquisition is part of Resolution Property’s £800m UK and pan-European investment programme.

Hanover Green advised Resolution, GVA advised the private vendor.
