24 Hour Fitness for King’s Hill, Kent

An exciting new gym concept offering 24-hour opening seven days a week, at affordable prices, is coming to Kings Hill.

Planning consent has been granted by Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council for Infinity Fitness UK to open a 6,600 sq ft gym in 10 Kings Hill Avenue – in the business park – to enable people to work out at a time to suit them.

The gym will have top of the range Life Fitness cardio and resistance equipment with the added bonus of a free-weights and stretch area. There will also be a dance studio for classes and other fitness related activities.

“It will purely be a gym and this is why we are able to offer such competitive prices,” said Dean Smith of Infinity Fitness UK. “We will charge £22.99 a month for unlimited use of the gym and if people pre-sign before we open there is no joining fee on our 12 month contract option.

“We also have options with no ‘tie-in’ clauses as well as day passes from as little as £6. Everyone deserves an opportunity to enjoy fitness and I believe that our club can cater for this with our fantastic membership options.

“We see it as the perfect solution for those who want to keep fit but would not use the extra facilities provided by other operators. Because of this, we think that our gym will complement, not compete with, the David Lloyd Leisure Centre, which is already at Kings Hill.

“The gym is well away from the residential areas of Kings Hill with access direct from the A228, and there is plenty of car parking. The gym will be fully manned between 9am and 8pm and at other times a central monitoring station would ensure the safety of users.”

“We live in a 24-hour world now and we think the new gym will be a popular amenity for Kings Hill,” said Andrew Blevins, managing director of Kings Hill developer Liberty Property Trust UK Ltd.

Sports amenities already at Kings Hill include an 18 hole golf course, cricket pitch, David Lloyd Leisure Centre and miles of foot and cycle paths. Work on the new Kings Hill Sports Park, which has five grass pitches, a 3G all-weather pitch and a pavilion, is almost complete.

Kings Hill is set in 800 acres near the county town of Maidstone and is just two miles from junction 4 of the M20. It was a former airfield and is now home to around 6,900 residents and more than 200 businesses employing some 5,500 people.

There are also schools and a village centre with shops including Waitrose; Costa Coffee; Domino’s and restaurants as well as a surgery, dry cleaners, shoe repairers, pharmacy and opticians.
