Debut London opening of Eco-Friendly bakery, Soderberg in Soho

Hanover Green Retail, on behalf of Shaftesbury, is pleased to announce that Swedish artisan bakery, Söderberg, will open its first London-based café on Berwick Street, Soho.

Set to open in January 2019 at 36 Berwick Street, the new 1,800 sq ft space will offer visitors authentically Swedish, high quality food including open-style sandwiches, smörrebröd, bread and pastry, as well as popular treats such as its signature Kardemummabulle (cardamom buns) and Kladdkaka (chocolate cake). The café will also provide sit-in brunch and takeaway breakfast and lunch options as well as Johan & Nyström coffee roasted in Sweden, Scandi-inspired cocktails, natural wines and craft beer.

Originating in Edinburgh, Söderberg Soho will bring to London the Swedish concept ‘fika’; fika can be translated simply as ‘coffee break’ and is an important part of Swedish culture, which lies at the roots of the Söderberg ethos.
