Hanover Green instrumental in Capco swap deal

Covent Garden London has signed a deal to acquire 16 Henrietta Street, 19 Henrietta Street and 35 – 37 Bedford Street, in a transaction which also involves the sale of the Odeon cinema in Shaftesbury Avenue. The vendor was a private company advised by Hanover Green. The deal sees Capco’s Covent Garden Estate grow, strengthening its holdings in the area with the properties which are situated just moments from the Piazza at the corner of Henrietta Street and Bedford Street. The Covent Garden Grill occupies 16 Henrietta Street, All Bar One occupies 19 Henrietta Street whilst 37 Bedford Street is home to a GNC health store, all the units have residential accommodation on the upper floors. The location acts as a gateway for the large volume of visitors coming into Covent Garden from Charing Cross station and The Strand. This purchase follows the acquisitions in 2011 of Kings Court (a group of 5 properties on King Street), 35 King Street and 11 James Street demonstrating Capco’s commitment to the ongoing evolution of the district into one of the most vibrant retail, dining and leisure destinations in London. The continued investment and development in the area has resulted in a raft of new, innovative and premium brands taking space in Covent Garden which has resulted in a significant shift in consumer demographics, with the district now attracting higher spending visitors.
