South East Office Take Up Increases

The take-up of office accommodation in the South East of England rose dramatically in the third quarter when compared with the previous three months.

Much of the take-up was focussed along the previously deal-starved M3 corridor with significant lettings to the likes of Novartis at Watchmoor Park and the acquisition at Hillswood Business Park by Astellas Pharmaceuticals.

Indeed it was the pharmaceuticals and biotechnology sectors that drove most of the take up across the region.

Hanover Green director Kevin Hawthorn says: “There have been landmark deals across the region for the best quality space with a consequence that the levels of grade A space are dropping rapidly in key markets.”
